Within the framework of the JEDI ROHU452 project, Szeged Vocational Training Centre organized two 5-day camps for Romanian secondary school students between 27 June and 8 July 2022, with the aim of familiarizing the participants with vocational training in Hungary, the expectations of the Hungarian labour market and the opportunities of Romanian-Hungarian cross-border mobility in the field of vocational training and employment.
The camp was attended by 20 students per rotation from the Csiki Gergely High School in Arad. During the 5 days we organised a varied interactive programme for the campers and their accompanying teachers in several schools of the Centre with the help of our teachers: in our member school Miksa Déri.
At the Móravárosi Vocational School, the students took part in welding and
chemistry demonstrations, and at the Csonka János Technical School, they
participated in car mechanics and law enforcement-related activities. They also visited the project’s canteen in Kistelek and the canteen of our vocational school in Mórahalom, where colleagues gave a barista demonstration. Every productive day in camp ended with a leisure programme following the professional presentations.
Positive feedback showed that the students appreciated the interactive sessions, and on day 5 they returned to Arad with a wealth of experiences.
